Idol Watchers

Idol Watchers what's up??!!

So I missed last nite's show and had to catch it on youtube. Trouble is, it's nowhere to be found on youtube unless you catch it within 24 hours of the show. Can I join the rest of the world in lamenting that I HATE not being able to watch Idol online *somewhere* if i miss it!!! I have to listen to audio only youtube videos. Actually, maybe it was good that I could only hear the audio... gives a certain perspective on each person's talent.

My top 3 are Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta and Jesse Langseth. Love the tone of Jesse's voice! And Allison rocked it - very Kelly Clarkson! Adam just has amazing control with his voice! And I love when he goes into the higher notes. Such a great voice.

Megan Joy Corkrey - I thought her singing was terrible. I think the judges gave her some slack because they have seen her do better. I would love to see her go to another round to see what she can do. Same with Mishavonna Henson. Would love to see her go another round with a better song! Not crazy about her song choice but she has a good voice.

Tune in tonite for results! I personally hate the results show! I will be watching twitter for updates...

Idol Watchers

Our first set of Idol hopefuls are through to the top 12: Alexis, Danny and Michael.
I actually voted for Danny and Ricky. I wasn't crazy about Alexis at first, but I can see how she may get better and have a good shot, depending on who makes the rest of the 12.

Soooo, Alexis sang a song by Aretha Franklin.... Now, I love Aretha Franklin. But I believe Aretha is on that "list" of artists that you don't even touch because you can't come close to how good they are..... the "off-limits" artists that the judges talk about all the time. And Alexis did a decent job, but comes far from Aretha's greatness. But all 3 judges gushed over it. I wasn't gushing.

I remember liking Michael from the earlier audition, but wasn't crazy about his song. He will really have to step it up to keep up with the others!

Danny, of course, was great. He also stood out more because most of the others in that group were terrible! But he will still have to work hard to keep up with the competition in the coming weeks.

I kinda like the new format. I think the performance round with the audience is a major step in Idol and the singers will have to be able to "wow" us right away or they're gone. I think it cuts down on contestants staying in for awhile on "popularity". We don't know much on a personal level about the contestants, so we are judging them more on a performance level. I did NOT like the parent/spouse/friend interviews right after each song. How embarrassing! I love my Mom, but i wouldn't want her greeting me on tv after a live performance, saying "Oh honey I'm so proud of you!". Now that I think about it, I get embarrassed every time she gushes over me.....not that I don't appreciate it, but....

I was worried about this new format, that only allowing 3 out of 12 thru would leave some good singers behind, but I'm hoping the judges/producers planned it well. I think the judges have an idea of who should be in the top 12 and this format allows them to go through quickly. I'm hoping each group of 12 will be as easy to pick. In fact, the top 3 didn't really stand out for me in this last group. It's really going to suck next week if there are 5 outstanding performers out of the 12....and we can only pick 3.

Happy Voting Idol Watchers!

not an original thought from me....

Watch your THOUGHTS, they become words.
Watch your WORDS, they become actions.
Watch your ACTIONS, they become habits.
Watch your HABITS, they become character.
Watch your CHARACTER, it becomes your DESTINY.

Hi, I’m Bobbi, and this is my Blog.

Hehe! Blog is such a funny word. Say it really sloooow. B-u-h-e-l-a-w-w-g. It’s extra funny that way. Say it really fast. Blogblogblogblog Ha! That sounds like a duck! I wonder if ducks think humans are funny….

Well anyway, I wanted to say hi from my bedroom. My show, Bobbi’s Bedroom, has been viewing on your tv set on this funny show called Stupidfaces. So of course, I’m writing this blog from my bedroom – it’s where all the creativity comes out of me. Like last night, I had my Betties over to play and we creatively sprayed silly string onto the ceiling.

Oh! I have a secret to tell you. Sometimes when I go to Starbucks, and I order my venti non-fat decaf soy latte with 2 shots of sugar-free vanilla and when the brrrrrista asks me for my name, I tell them it’s Betty! Heehee! Of course they don’t really get the joke. But I love that it’s my little secret.

Everyone has little secrets. What’s your secret? Oh! I guess if you tell me, it won’t be a secret anymore, would it? *smileys*

So how about this - let me hear the secret that you’ve been holding in about someone else and have been dying to let out! Ok ready? Go!  …..that means Go Comment!

You can catch Bobbi's Bedroom on the show Stupidface on the Fuel TV Network every week. Check your local listings.

Live to Travel

I have found a new “why” in my life. My “why” is my reason for doing what I do....... Traveling!

I want to travel anywhere and everywhere. I have friends and family all over the place and I want to go see them!

I want to go to every Caribbean island out there because I need to figure out on which one I will buy my vacation house.

I want to take crash courses in tourist Italian, German, Spanish and French.

I want to have a picture of me drinking a cocktail in every city that has cocktails.

I want to fill 2 refrigerators (one reg and one beer fridge) full of cheesy magnets from every fun place I go.

I want to drink rum that you can only get in the Caribbean. I want to drink vodka that you can only get in Russia. I want to drink beer that you can only get in Germany.

On the P.S. side, I still am not sure if I recommend falling in love on vacation. On the one hand, yes it’s wonderful and amazing; I feel like I got my groove back, blah blah. On the other hand, I miss him like crazy. Of course I would do it all over again.

xoxo

My Bucket List

My Bucket List:

Live somewhere in the Caribbean for at least a month.

Go on a roadtrip by myself.

Record an album.

Learn ballroom dancing.

Go on a silent meditation retreat.

Complete a collection of Beatles music.

Create my own fragrance line.

Own a house with a “Movie Screening” room….and a hot tub in the backyard.

Good eats around the corner from my house

I live by the Burbank airport and for the last year they have been piddling the area with new restaurants. I was a little pissy about it at first because of their choices: McDonald’s and Del Taco making me want to set up a protest chained to the bulldozer. And don’t get me started on Panda Express. Ewwwww! Although I am still loving McD’s breakfast, I would rather not have this crap food so close to my house! I don’t want the temptation.

I haven’t been to a Denny’s in awhile, so I forget if I should be running from that one too. I do remember some late nite Denny’s visits that were very satisfying.

But it IS nice to see a fun little Greek place that I’m hoping will be yummy. And my  old standby, Subway is welcome.

I’ve been trying to ween myself away from my fast-food childhood for years. Thankfully, the movie Supersize Me turned me off to almost everything at McD’s. I haven’t had their meat or french fries in 3 years. What’s really tough, is finding something cheap and healthy when I’m out running around. I can’t just throw a bowl of fruit salad in the car to eat later in the day. It’s not that yummy at 90 degrees. Ooooh maybe I need to find a travel cooler for the car.…..

Constant

I have a pet peeve: bad attitudes. Now, I know some people get into bad MOODS sometimes, but I'm talking about bad attitudes. It's kinda entertaining. I mean, it would be dumb to "hate" them. I'm not going to allow someone with bad energy affect me into a "hate" mode.

I'm doing extra work one day and this girl seemed to get frustrated with every cut, like they weren't moving fast enough for her. The actors were improv-ing and ad libbing and missing lines here and there. Now, I know they use all of that. Lots of editing and good stuff. It's not like the actors are just wasting time. It's like this on many sets I've been on. So I'm thinking, 'Oh she must be new at this'. So I ask how long she's been doing background and she says, "5 years or so". 5 years! Hello? 5 years and you don't get it! It's always going to be like this.

When you're in a frustrating situation, try examining it a little better. Which part of the situation is the "constant"? It's useless to get repeatedly frustrated at a "constant". Does that make sense? (sometimes i don't) If that's not going to change, or it's beyond your control to change it, then who's the one who needs to change? Yup...Bad Attitude Girl.

Try going with the flow. Be comfortable with the constant. Your day will go much better.
